YAY! Well, today I am going to profess my love for some amazing writers:
J.K. Rowling--So the HP books aren't great works of lit. But they are the most enjoyable reads I've ever had...something about her writing style just sucks me in. I love them to death, my favorite books ever, by far. Just the way she...makes them fun and believable fantasy. And Ron is cute, too.
Philip Pullman--The His Dark Material books are soooooooo amazing. Just the way he makes them work...rich with imagery and symbolism and character and religion and description and exotic locales.
C.S. Lewis-- Wow. I first read the Chronicles of Narnia books when I was eight, about 7 years ago, and I don't remember them much,b ut I remember LOVING them. When I heard that there was to be a movie of Lion, Witch and Wardrobe starring none other than my beloved Nicole Kidman, I decided to reread them. And WOW! They aren't as engaging as HP, nor as interesting as HDM, but wow. Something about the land of Narnia. This was where it all started, my love of fantasy, in a desk in a school.
Jane Austen--She writes fun, frothy books but the name "Jane Austen" disguises it. Yummy. Romantic reads that make me wish for a Darcy of my own. (Not that I don't loooove my boyfriend)
